Your Home Care Questions Answered
Home Care Packages are government-funded supports designed to help older Australians stay safe and independent at home. There are four package levels based on your care needs.
At INCCare, we help you get the most out of your package—tailoring services to your lifestyle, goals, and cultural values. You’ll be supported by a dedicated team who genuinely cares.
The CHSP provides entry-level care for older adults who need occasional, low-level support (such as basic domestic help or transport).
INCCare does not provide CHSP services. However, if your needs are increasing, we can help you transition to a Home Care Package for more flexible and consistent support tailored to your situation.
Your Home Care Package can fund a wide range of care and services to help you remain living safely and independently at home—if they align with your care plan and package guidelines.
At INCCare, we coordinate services such as:
- Personal care – Showering, dressing, grooming
- Domestic support – Cleaning, laundry, light meal prep
- Assistance with shopping and errands
- Social support – Friendly visits, community participation
- Transport – To health appointments or activities
- Home safety modifications – Grab rails, ramps, mobility aids
- Nursing services – Medication management, wound care, chronic disease support
- Allied Health Services (when clinically justified):
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Podiatry
- Speech therapy
- Psychology or counselling
- Dietetics
Allied health services must relate directly to your care needs and be included in your care plan. INCCare ensures compliance with Department of Health guidelines while giving you access to trusted, qualified providers.
Your package funding must be used for supports and services that meet the goals in your care plan and help you live safely at home. This may include care services, equipment, assistive technology, and minor home modifications.
At INCCare, we ensure all purchases and services are compliant with the Home Care Package Operational Manual. If you’re unsure whether something is covered, we’ll help clarify before any decisions are made.
We have a minimum 2-hour booking for support services. All pricing is transparent, fair, and aligned with government expectations.
INCCare offers competitive fees, so more of your package goes directly to the care you need. No hidden charges.
If you’re doing more and more for your loved ones during visits, it may be time to gently talk about aged care support. These conversations can be sensitive, but starting early gives everyone more choice and peace of mind.
We’re here to help guide these discussions—focusing on independence, safety, and wellbeing, not just “care.”
Your journey starts with a My Aged Care referral and assessment. From there, INCCare can help you understand your options, apply for services, and begin using your package.
We offer clear guidance at every step—no stress, just support.
INCCare charges:
- 11% Package Management Fee
- 15% Care Management Fee
These fees cover administration and care coordination. Our rates are among the most affordable in the industry.
- Package Management Fee covers government compliance, financial management, and admin of your package.
- Care Management Fee includes personalised care planning, service coordination, and regular check-ins to review your needs.
At INCCare, we don’t just manage—we care.
We charge a handling fee for one-off purchases and reimbursements to cover the admin required to process external invoices and payments. This ensures accuracy, record-keeping, and timely processing.
The Income-Tested Care Fee is a payment some people may need to make toward the cost of their Home Care Package. Services Australia works out if you need to pay this fee — not INCCare. It is based on your income and helps cover part of your care costs.
Not everyone pays it.
Full pensioners usually don’t pay an ITF.
Part pensioners or self-funded retirees may need to pay, depending on their income.
You can ask Services Australia for an income assessment to find out. INCCare can guide you through this process.
Your funds must be spent on services that meet your assessed care needs and help you live safely and independently at home.
Approved uses: personal care, nursing, home help, transport, allied health, social support.
Not approved: everyday bills, holidays, or items not linked to your care.
At INCCare, we create a care plan with you to make sure every service meets government rules, supports your goals, and is fully explained on your statements.
